Goodbye Hugs

Today Julianne went upstairs to clean out Hugs' cage, to find that Hugs had died. Julianne knew that Hugs was getting old, and she believes that she'd gone blind in the last few months because she had trouble finding the door of the cage when Julianne would open it to let her come out and play.

Julianne wrapped her up in some tissue and brought her downstairs to us. Hugs looked sweet and peaceful, all curled up in her snuggly sleeping position. We think she probably curled up to take a nap and died in her sleep.

She was a wonderful little hamster that provided Julianne with many good memories. We will all miss you, Hugs!
