Chef Marie!
Marie cooked Korean food for us last night! We took her shopping to get everything she needed, then as soon as we got home, Julianne and I helped her slice and dice some vegies.(Julianne's collar and our bowls don't really glow in the dark--there's something wrong with my camera.)
Marie marinated the bean sprouts in sesame oil, and let the cucumbers and zucchini rest after they'd been salted. Then she started cooking the pork and vegies, one kind at a time, and setting them aside when they were done.
After everything was cooked, she carefully started arranging the food in a bowl. Cooked white rice filled the bottom of the bowl, then the vegetables and pork were arranged on top.She served the dish Korean style, bringing it to the table with each ingredient in its own separate place in the serving bowl. Just before dishing it up to our bowls, she added some spicy Korean sauce and stirred the whole thing to mix all ingredients.
It was absolutely delicious! We all loved it and it will certainly remain on our menu, even after Marie returns to Korea.
